Obituary For Janice Faye Lambertz

Janice Faye Lambertz, 88, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on November 29, 1935, in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Donald Francis Guill and Helen (Johnson) Guill, who preceded her in death.

On June 24, 1956, in Council Bluffs, IA, she was united in marriage to Clyde Lambertz, who resides in the home.

Janice was born and raised in and around the Council Bluffs, IA. After marriage, she moved with Clyde to follow his career to Leavenworth, KS., Geneva, NE, and Goodland, KS. Her first job after high school was at a drugstore in downtown Council Bluffs, Iowa. This is where she met her eventual husband Clyde, who worked up the street at JC Penney. Her first job after marriage, outside of raising three boys, was at Wilson's Jewelry Store in Goodland, KS., as a selling clerk. She always loved jewelry and liked helping others. She later worked for Goodland Motor Company as an office/book-keeping employee and did that job for close to 20 years.

Janice was a member of the First Methodist Church in Goodland, KS. She was very active in the church's women's groups and was the head of the UMW Executive Committee for several years.

Janice always had a fondness for animals and, along with her husband Clyde, was very involved with animal rescues and home fostering of dogs and cats. She loved flowers, especially roses, and maintained a large rose garden. Janice would enter her favorite roses into the local fairs. She loved watching birds and had a fondness for cardinals. She loved clothes and took a lot of pride in her appearance. Janice passed that love down to her six granddaughters as she made sure they always went to the mall to pick out new outfits when she visited them. Janice loved baking and making cookies with her granddaughters and great-grandkids and spent many hours in the kitchen showing them how to make their favorites.

In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by three sons, Donald Lambertz (Edith) of Sedalia, David Lambertz (Emilie) of Andover, KS, and Scott Lambertz (Leigh Ann) of Lee's Summit, MO; six granddaughters, Brook (Anthony) Boyer, Lindsay (Brian) Boatright, Erin (fiancé Zac Newell) Lambertz, Lauren (Brett) Coatney, Elizabeth Lambertz, and Jenna Lambertz; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandsons a step-granddaughter and eight step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Guill of Branson, MO; a sister, Mary Smith of Goodland, KS; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by two brothers, Daryl Guill and Dean Guill, and two sisters, Francis Hallagan and Jeannie Bain.
