James Donald Pesch, 91, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, Sedalia. He was born on January 3, 1926 in Erie, PA the son of Carl P. and Barbara K. Hubert Pesch, who preceded him in death.
On November 18, 1950 he was united in marriage to Vivian Margaret Malits, who preceded him in death on December 4, 2001.
James was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sedalia. He worked for Lord Corporation in Erie, PA as a production planner for 29 years and for United Technologies in Tucson, AZ for eleven years. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII. He was assigned to the USS Lovering DE 39.
James was known for his quick wit and good sense of humor. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He and his wife Vivian loved watching them during spring training in Tucson, AZ where they formed friendships with the owners, managers and players of the team.
He is survived by a daughter Jean Boston and her husband Michael of Sedalia; a son, David Pesch and his wife Christine of Erie, PA; two granddaughters, Stephanie Gleason and her husband Tommy of Sedalia and Melissa Boston of Fayetteville, AR; a great granddaughter, Emili Boston.
In addition to his wife, Vivian and his parents he was also preceded in death by a grandson, James Boston; a brother, Hubert Pesch; two sisters, Jean Hoy and Barbara Ann Cherne.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mark Miller, C.P.P.S officiating.
A rosary will be said at 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
