Obituary For James Lester Petree

James "Lester" Petree, 79, of Green Ridge passed away August 10, 2021 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, due to COVID-19, in Sedalia, MO. He was born on November 28, 1941 in Jamestown, MO the son of Lester Leon and Lula Mae (Brizendine) Petree, who preceded him in death.

On February 10, 1965 in Sedalia, MO., he was united in marriage to Margaret Louise (Shipps) Petree, who survives of the home.

Lester worked with his uncles early in his working career. He also worked at Butter Made Dog Food. In 1966, he went to work in Kansas City for the Local 10 Ironworkers and retired after 33 years. Sometimes he would travel with his job and he would take his family with him. He was an avid deer hunter and loved to fish for catfish at Truman Dam. After his retirement he liked to work in the yard and cut wood. He loved to spend time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all of his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children Marty Petree (Kristy) of Green Ridge, MO and Monica Petree of Sedalia, MO; two grandchildren Michael Petree of Moberly, MO and Brittany Petree of Green Ridge, MO; five great-grandchildren Kason, Maddison, Dylan, Kaylee, and one on the way; and one sister Mary Jane Martin of Sedalia, MO.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Donnie and David Petree.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
