James Lawrence Mowrey

James Lawrence Mowrey, 70, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on March 4, 1953, in Tampa, FL, the son of Harvey S. Mowrey and Marjorie June (Aultman) Mowrey, who preceded him in death.

James served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1973 until 1979, serving on the USS Barb Nuclear Submarine. Later, he moved to Sedalia from Tampa, FL, to live with his sister and work for I-land Internet Services as an IT Technician until his retirement.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Thompson, of Sedalia; three brothers, Hugh, Tom, and Paul Mowrey;

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother William "Bill" Mowrey;

Burial will be on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community of Christ Church in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
