James "Jimmie" Richard Fisher, 78, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home. On October 29, 1943, he was born in Sedalia, the son of Joseph Elwood Fisher and Mabel Marie (Bass) Vinson, who preceded him in death.
On October 16, 1965, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Deborah Sue Burlingame, who resides in the home.
James worked as a boiler-maker and cement finisher. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, automobile racing, arrowhead hunting, going on scenic rides, and visiting with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Angela Bryan and Dennis Fisher (Suzann), both of Sedalia, Jerrica Calceron of San Antonio, TX, Renee Meek and Melody Meek of Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren, Kyla, Seth, Jacob, Michael, Zachary, Sophia, Gabriela, Diego, Leti, and Alex; seven great-grandchildren, Natasha, Ronin, Eli, Kaiden, Kaylee, Jacob, and Miguel; two brothers, Elwood Fisher (Kay) and Stephen Vinson both of Sedalia; three sisters, Catherine Farri and Janice Wiser both of Sedalia, and Karen Sherman (Larry) of Center Town, MO; Also numerous nieces and nephews who he held close to his heart. James never met a stranger and had many close friends, including special friends Elisabeth and Eric Hackett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Wayne Vinson, in infancy; and three sisters, Shirley Wilson, Melva Vinson, and Naomi Fisher, in infancy.
The family will have a celebration of life gathering of family and friends at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Bothwell State Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
