James Franklin Lowe, 74, of Sedalia passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his home in Sedalia. He was born on September 12, 1943 in Tazewell County, VA the son of Carl and Lucy (Vencille) Lowe, who preceded him in death.
On March 10, 1995 in Miami, OK, he was united in marriage to Brenda Lee Schlup who preceded him in death on January 3, 2014.
James served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a union painter for 35 years and for Hayes Wheels in the Maintenance Department. James enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, cooking and canning.
He is survived by three sons, Larry Lowe and Rodney Lowe both of Sedalia and Zac Lowe of Warrensburg; three grandchildren, James Lowe, Lisa Lowe and Antonio Lowe; his twin brother, Jim Wayne Lowe of Illinois; three sisters, Leola Boardwine, Uva Wilson, and Norma Farrar all of Virginia.
In addition to his wife Brenda and his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Mearl Reynolds, Scott Lowe, Carl Lowe, Jr., Jack Lowe, Bill Ray Lowe, Harry Thomas Lowe, and Lucille Segner.
A memorial graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2018 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Sedalia VFW Post #2591 and the Missouri Army National Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post #642 in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
