James T. Eller, 82, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at his home. He was born November 23, 1931 in Talbott, TN, son of Harrison and Cecil Cockrum Eller.
Upon graduation of Morristown High School, he joined the United States Navy, served upon the Battleship USS Iowa during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged he married Betty Cox on November 29, 1957 in Stratford, CA.
After retiring he was very active in his church. He enjoyed genealogy and salmon fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Eller; three sons, Michael, Mark, and Chris Eller; a daughter, Tracy Harrison; one sister, Shelvie Short of Morristown, TN; and two grandchildren, Donne and Beth.
Services will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Sedalia.
Interment will be Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Family History Center at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
