Obituary For Jacob Wissman

Jacob John Wissman, 81, of Hughesville passed away Friday January 19, 2018 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on March 11, 1936 in Sedalia, the son of Jacob J. and Maude (Davis) Wissman, who preceded him in death.

On December 22, 1956 in Sedalia he was united in marriage to Maurine Taylor who preceded him in death on June 12, 2013.

Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outside on his tractor, play marbles and cards. He had a good sense of humor and liked telling jokes. Jake especially loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include three children, Cynthia Lowry and her husband Norman of Warsaw, Mike Wissman and his wife Mary of Cole Camp, and Sandy Blankenship and her husband Don of Houstonia; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Maurine and his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Chester, Don, Cleo and Eldon Wissman; four sisters, Bonnie Dick, Jane Montgomery, Ann Richards, and JoAnn Hedges; and a great granddaughter, Addison Blankenship.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.

The family will receive friend one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Blankenship, Bart Wissman, Dan Wissman, Heath Wissman, Kevin Wissman, and Kirk Wissman.

Honorary pallbearer will be Nick Hawn.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
