Obituary for Jacob J.B. Davis

Jacob "J.B." Davis, 91, of Sedalia, MO passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 4, 1929 in Hughesville, MO the son of Earl and Pansy (Shull) Davis, who preceded him in death.

On May 13, 1952, he was united in marriage to Betty L. Sommers, who survives of the home.

J.B. was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United States Army as a Medic. For almost 50 years, he co-operated Leonard's "66" truck stop, also known as the Pit Stop with owner and brother, Ernest "Doc" Davis.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Gerry Gail Coffelt (Kenneth) of Sedalia; two sons, Terry Jacob Davis (Melanie) of Sedalia and Tony Bert Davis of New York City; four grandchildren, Matthew Coffelt (Beth) of Kansas City, MO, Ashley Coffelt-Warren (Andrew) of Ohio, Trevor Davis (Sarah) of Sedalia, and Shelbi Davis of Columbia, MO; three great grandchildren, Ella Warren, Clara Coffelt and Rowan Davis.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Diane June Davis and seven siblings, Earl Douglas Davis, Viola Bolch, Earlene Stevens, Francis Davis, Ernest "Doc" Davis, Roy Davis and Ray Davis; and a grandson, Jacob Raymond Davis.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced by the family at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to E.W. Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
