Obituary For Howard Privett

Howard Lee Privett, 74, of Smithton passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on January 15, 1943 in Hartville, MO the son of Leonard and Luna Madeline (Davenport) Privett, who preceded him in death.

On June 28, 1968 in Syracuse, MO, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Bottcher who resides of the home.

He was a member of the Sedalia Church of Christ. He worked for Lamy's Manufacturing in Sedalia for 20 years as a sewing machine mechanic. He owned and operated J&H Construction for several years after his retirement from Lamy's. Howard enjoyed woodworking and had built several pieces of furniture for his family. He loved to go to the lake to go boating, camping and fishing every weekend when he was able. Howard especially loved riding his motorcycle and going to rally's with his son. He was a former member of the Freedom of the Road Riders bike club, and Sedalia Moose Lodge #125 BPOE. Howard was a devoted family man. He loved his children and grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. He was looking forward to the arrival of two great grandsons later this fall.

In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by two sons, Gene Wallace (Debbie) of Marshall, MO and Jeff Wallace of LaMonte; a daughter, Marsha Siercks (Kim Mellen) of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Brian, Brittany, Tiffany, and Amber; five brothers; two sisters; and his beloved dog Rusty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and a granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Owens officiating,

Family visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of the funeral chapel.
