Harrell Lee Nicholson, 78, formerly of Sedalia, MO, passed away on January 4, 2015, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Warrensburg, MO. He was born November 24, 1936, near Shelbyville, MO. His family moved to a Hughesville farm in 1946. He graduated from Hughesville High School in 1954, and served as a US Marine.
On December 4, 1981 in Broken Arrow, OK he was united in marriage to Patricia (Wicker) Nicholson, who survives of Sedalia.
Harrell is survived by his wife, Patricia Nicholson, one son, Brian Nicholson and one daughter, Candice Brown (Kip) of Hughesville, one step-daughter, Charlotte Edwards (Mark) of Sedalia, six grandchildren, Stephanie Geiler (James), Alisha Brown, Devin Brown, Liam Brown, Heather Matney (Landon), Sean Edwards (Jessie), and four great-grandchildren, Kade Geiler, Roman Matney, Ashlyn & Norah Edwards, one sister, JoAnn Harvey (George) of Hughesville, four sister’s-in-law, Barbara Nicholson, Kathryn Nicholson, Darlene Nicholson, and Edith Ann Kreisel (Jim), many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were; his parents Walter P. and Opal (Bozarth) Nicholson, a son, Stephen Eugene Nicholson, three brothers, Marvin Leon Nicholson, Gerald Meridith Nicholson, and Orval Eugene Bozarth.
Harrell’s military headstone will be placed in High Point Cemetery near Hughesville, MO. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Association for Persons with Disabilities - c/o James Rennison - 600 East 12 - #1, Sedalia, MO 65301.
