Obituary For Harold Joseph VanBooven, Jr.

The Order will take effect beginning 12:01 A.M. Monday, March 23, 2020 and remain in effect until 12:01 A.M. Monday, April 6, 2020 unless extended by further order of the Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services with said extensions not to exceed the duration of the effective period of Executive Order 20-02.****

Harold "Joe" Joseph VanBooven, Jr., 53, of La Monte, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He was born on November 8, 1966 in Sedalia, MO, a son of Harold Joesph and Marjorie (Woolery) VanBooven Sr.

On March 24, 1988 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Lori Anne Lefevers, who preceded him in death on December 14, 2019.

Joe worked for Dan Bailey Construction in Sedalia as the Lead Foreman. He served his community on the La Monte fire board for five years. He enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and especially love spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include four children, Josh VanBooven (Kyla), Jesse VanBooven, Jolee VanBooven, all of La Monte, and Joseph J. Binney of Independence, MO; his mother, Marjorie (Woolery) VanBooven; his father, Harold J. VanBooven, Sr. of Sedalia; one sister, Robin Wagenknecht (Kevin) of Sedalia; and three grandchildren, James, Johnny, and Jamie.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Prewitt and Charles VanBooven; and one sister; Glenna Smith.

A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.
