Obituary For Harold Foster Scotten
Harold Foster Scotten, 86, of La Monte, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. On August 19, 1935, he was born in Rural Pettis County, MO, the son of James Leonard Scotten and Eliza Louise (Smith) Scotten, who preceded him in death.
On March 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Drue D. Eckhoff, who preceded him in death on March 28, 1978. On June 7, 1990, he was united in marriage to Scotty (LaDow) Rieckhoff, who preceded him in death on September 10, 2011.
Harold owned and operated Scotten Implement in La Monte from 1979 until 1992. He enjoyed being out on the old home place. Harold loved being with his grandchildren and family.
Three children survive him, Kent Scotten of Green Ridge, Kim Routledge of Seneca, MO, and Kathy Harris of Euless, TX; two step-children, Scott Rieckhoff (Kim) of Hughesville and Lea Anne Bell (Larry) of La Monte; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Gene Scotten of Sedalia; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Roy and Bob Scotten, Evelyn Burton, and Patty Wagner; a step-daughter, Stacy (Rieckhoff) Davis.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
The family will hold a private family celebration of life gathering at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Ridge Cemetery Association in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
