Gerald Edward Hancock, 80, of rural Sedalia, MO, died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his home near Sedalia. He was born on January 15, 1937 in Iberia, MO, the son of Thomas J. and Beulah (Burks) Hancock, who preceded him in death.
He was united in marriage to Judith Klein, who survives of the home.
He graduated from Green Ridge High School in 1954. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. Gerald graduated from the University of Missouri in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. Gerald was a Sedalia businessman, farmer, and mentor to many. He served as a director of U.S. Bank over 40 years. In his younger days he enjoyed flying his airplane and scuba diving. He became a scuba instructor and later served as a member of the Pettis County Search and Rescue Team. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #272.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Michael (Deana) of Fishers, IN, Mark (Karen) of Sedalia and Doug (Naomi) of Lincoln, MO; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the donor's choice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
