Obituary For George Thomas Crafton

George Thomas Crafton, 84, of Sedalia passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Country Club Care Center of Warrensburg. He was born in Sedalia on April 21, 1939, the son of Raymond T Crafton and Georgia M. Wolkey, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Phebe (Brown) Crafton on September 29, 1957, who resides of the home.
George was a 1957 Smith-Cotton High School graduate. He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church. George was a route salesman for Guys Foods for almost two decades. He retired from Bill Greer Motors after another twenty years as a car salesman. He was a boy scout leader, baseball coach, and quite frankly, the best dad and grandpa ever. Throughout his life, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, and traveling. He shared his love for fishing with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids (we all know how to bait a hook). He liked to take the family on vacations in the camper and fishing on his boat where many stories and laughs were shared. He was an avid Chiefs fan. If there was a game on, you could find George and Karen cheering on their team.
Besides his loving wife, Phebe, George is survived by two children, Joe Crafton and Karen Crafton; daughter-in law, Tammie Crafton; grandchildren: Wes and Christina Shipps, Valerie and Brad Henderson, Nick Crafton, and Matt Crafton; many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Besides his parents, George is preceded in death by a son, Mike Crafton; brothers Harold and Bill Crafton; granddaughter, Ami Crafton-Green, and daughter-in-law, Pam Crafton.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Vi Rhoads officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery following the service.
Pallbearers will be Nick Crafton, Wes Shipps, Chase Shipps, Brad Henderson, Tyler Henderson, Logan Henderson, and Matt Crafton.
Honorary bearers will be Katelyn Shipps, Chloee Crafton, and Haley Henderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Smith-Cotton Education Foundation, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
