George R. McFatrich, Jr., 60, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on August 10, 1958 in Sedalia to George and Patricia (Busker) McFatrich.
He attended Smith Cotton High School and was a member of New Score. He later attended Missouri Western and State Fair Community College where he was an athletic trainer. Growing up, he enjoyed riding and showing horses.
He married Kimberly Blubaugh and they had one child, Jennifer Renee.
He worked several years for Gardner Denver.
He later married Karen Estes.
After moving to the St. Louis area, he became a manufacturing engineer for Nordyne and helped start a therapeutic horseback riding program. He was an avid golfer and played many courses around the U.S. After suffering a severe stroke in 2004, he moved back to Sedalia, where he was cared for by his mother.
He was preceded in death by his father, George R. McFatrich. He is survived by his mother and sisters, LaDonna (Tracy) Meuschke and Tricia (Benny) Hefley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Jim Downing, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends at the chapel for a visitation from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
Burial will be held Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pettis County, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be James McFatrich, Tony Neth, Benny Hefley, Tracy Meuschke, Jerry Mathieu, and Tommy Townsend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Epworth United Methodist Church.
