Gayle Frances Thomas, 86, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 19, 2022. She was born on March 31, 1935, in Sedalia, the daughter of Alfred Rowlette and Dessie (Baker) Rowlette, who preceded her in death.
On May 6, 1961, in Miami, OK, she was united in marriage to Earl F. Thomas, who preceded her in death on September 12, 1998.
Gayle worked as a Vehicle Transporter for Town and Country Motors in Sedalia for many years. She enjoyed sewing, being outdoors, baking, and eating at Mexican restaurants. Gayle was a lover of animals. She loved the companionship of her dog "Scooter" and especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Juli Thomas of Sedalia, Kim Sanchez of Friendswood, TX, and Joni Pierce of Sedalia; eight grandchildren, Melissa, James, Nick, Chad, Doug, Crystal, Micaela, and Matthew; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Wilbur Mosier, of Sedalia; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michel Thomas; three sisters, Gloria Rowlette, in infancy, Jeanne Mosier and Helen Cecil; two grandchildren, Timothy and Kieth Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, 25, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Cecil, Greg Cecil, Kevin Staus, Chad Pace, Matthew Pierce, and Andrew Dilmore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
