Gary Thomas Creek, 85, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at his home on Friday, September 13, 2024. He was born on October 10, 1938, in Springfield, MO, the son of Leonard Creek and Virginia (Cox) Creek, who preceded him in death.
On October 20, 1986, in Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Wyonna Marie Harris, who resides in the home.
Gary was a member of LifePointe Church, Sedalia. He was a man of Faith. Gary's passion was spreading the word of God and witnessing to people. His witty and good sense of humor was a source of joy for many. He enjoyed making people laugh. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Gary especially loved spending time with family and friends. Gary worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in Cole Camp and postal clerk at the Sedalia post office, retiring in 2004.
In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by four daughters, Shawn Whitworth, Shannon Laufenberg, Jill Harms (Stanley), and Summer Butler (Chris); seven grandchildren, Michael, Aaron, Nick, Chelsea, Broderic, Desmon, and Brooklyn; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Carter; and two brothers, Leonard Creek (MaryLou) and Jim Creek (Sharon).
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Phil Whitworth and Dennis Laufenberg.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at LifePointe Church, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the LifePointe Church, Sedalia.
Arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
