Obituary For Galen "Smitty" Smitten

Galen “Smitty” Keith Smitten, 84, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on July 7, 1930 in St. Cloud, MN, the son of Maurice and Leona (Stack) Smitten, who preceded him in death.

On September 12, 1970, in Kailua, HI, he was united in marriage to Doris Weller, who survives of the home.

Smitty was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved spending time with his friends and family. He enjoyed model railroading, and had a heart for animals. Smitty was involved with Big Brothers and a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He was a member of Lutheran Church of The Nativity in Arden, NC and was an inactive member of The Masonic Lodge, Milwaukee, WI. Smitty served his country honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Gayle Hoveland of Sedalia, Marion Park and her husband Rodney of Kaneohe, HI and Mark Davis and his wife Ronda of Knob Noster; one aunt, Betty Keane and her husband, Jim of Oak Creek, WI; three grandchildren, Scott, Jimmy and Riley.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
