Gene Cramer, 78, of Cole Camp, MO, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at his home in Cole Camp. He was born on August 16, 1945, in Sweet Springs, MO, the son of George Alonzo Cramer and Mary Lee (Rumsey) Cramer, who preceded him in death.
Gene was an over-the-road truck driver who loved traveling. He also loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and anything to do with the outdoors. He loved family gatherings, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Gene knew no strangers, and was well known for his great sense of humor, his fun loving attitude, and his kind heart. He was the legend to his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include seven children, Diane Burks (Justin) of Portland, MO, Randy Cramer (Rikki) of Holts Summit, MO, Jeff and Melinda Cramer of Columbia, MO, Jamie Cramer of Jamestown, MO, Barbara and Robbie Stremmel of Cole Camp, MO, Shelly and Dave Gill of Prescott, KS, and Michael and Lisa Hertel of Sweet Springs, MO; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a daughter, Tabby Cramer; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three brothers, Raymond, Richard, and Melvin Cramer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, 3510 W. 16th St., with Pastor Aaron Roberts officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
The burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Adam Shephard, Steven Shephard, Randon Cramer, Robbie Stremmel, Dave Gill, and John Strahl.
Honorary bearers will be Cane Burks, Michael Hertel, and Skyler Hertel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
