Forest Andrew Franklin Allen, 85, of Smithton, passed away on August 5, 2023, at his home in Smithton, Missouri. He was born on May 23, 1938, in Pioneer, MO, the son of Walter L. Allen and Bertha Ann (Elbert) Allen, who preceded him in death.
On October 4, 1959, in Aurora, MO, he was united in marriage to Alice Wiese, who resides in the home.
Forest was baptized and confirmed in August 1959 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, MO. Forest joined Holy Cross Lutheran Church, south of Bahner, MO., and Our Savior Lutheran Church, in Sedalia. Later in life, he attended Flat Creek Baptist Church.
Forest moved his family to Sedalia in 1968, where he started cattle farming in the Smithton area and opened General Transmission and Motor Service in Sedalia, which he operated for over 30 years. After selling his Transmission business, he continued working his cattle farming business until his death. Forest truly enjoyed his farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially loved walking with his wife around their farm.
In addition to his wife, Forest is survived by a daughter, Deanna Allen-Wineland (Mike), of Panama City Beach, FL; and some cousins.
In addition to his parents, Forest was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Schlotzhauer, and a brother, Carl Raymond Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Rea Funeral Chapel, with Ron Jobe officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the chapel service.
The burial will be at Flat Creek Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Gene Anderson, Paul Anderson, Anthony Schwartz, Tracy Monsees, Rick Adams, and David Staus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
