Obituary For Everett Stevenson

Everett E. Stevenson, 96 of Smithton, MO passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Cole Camp, MO. He was born on August 2, 1918 in Sedalia a son of Lee J. and Bessie L. (Miller) Stevenson, who both preceded him in death.

On March 10, 1942 in Oakland, CA he was united in marriage to Mary (Swope) Stevenson, who survives.

He enjoyed raising Hereford cattle, bailing hay and going fishing. Everett was owner/operator of Stevenson Tractor Company. He was a member of Lake Creek Methodist Church, Sedalia Lions Club and Sedalia Chamber of Commerce. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Larry Stevenson (Mary Jo) of Sedalia, LeRoy Stevenson (Judy) of Sedalia, Jerry Stevenson of Springfield and Randy Stevenson of Sedalia; two daughters, Linda Reid (James) and Glenda Stevenson all of Sedalia; one brother, Floyd Stevenson (Vonda) of Sedalia; ten grandchildren, Mark, Brent, Shawn, Ryan, Robbie, Lisa, Joni, Christy, Bryan and Jennifer; two step grandchildren, Michael and Mitchell; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Emmett and Glen Stevenson; one sister, Bernice Ray and two grandsons, Jason Copenhaver and LeRoy Jarett Stevenson.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev. Jason Veale officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia. Full military honors will be conducted at graveside by Sedalia VFW Post 2591. Pallbearers will be Everett's four sons and two grandsons, Mark and Ryan. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Lake Creek United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral chapel.
