Evelyn Groves

Evelyn Lucille Groves (Byrd-Hayes), 86, passed away Thursday evening, May 11, 2017, at her home and in the company of her loved ones.

She is survived by three children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom she loved unconditionally, as they did her.

It was Evelyn’s love of family and friends and her kindness towards all living creatures that is her legacy. Her involvement in raising her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys and an effort treasured by those who benefited from her care. Her devotion to her grandchildren was a constant source of comfort for each, and always provided them with a soft place to land.

She will be missed, as she already is, but promised to always be with us spiritually. We believe she will.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 3:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery with Reverend Dan Hankins officiating.
