Obituary For Evelyn Cullen

Evelyn Lucille Cullen, 90, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, Sedalia. She was born on November 14, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Oscar Juvland and Zella Hall, who preceded her in death.

On May 2, 1950, in Corning, IA she was united in marriage to Mark Cullen, Jr., who preceded her in death on February 3, 1995.

She attended Hopewell Baptist Church. She was a 4-H leader and volunteered at Open Door. Evelyn was a homemaker for most of her working career and enjoyed painting, quilting, gardening and taking care of her family. She was very fond of all animals especially dogs and her favorite dog Freckles.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Edward M. Cullen and his wife Judy of Olathe, KS and a daughter, Sue Selvey and her husband Dave of Sedalia; Six grandchildren, Michael Cullen, Jr., Keyna Mieves, Chris Cullen, Jolene Ash, David Brett Selvey, and Leah Cullen; 9 great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Tyler, Gabriel, Bailey, Colin, Madilynn, Lance, Madilynn, Elizabeth.

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a son Michael Edwin Cullen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Owens officiating.

The family receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Shull, Dave Johnson, Hugo Dennis, David Brett Selvey, Michael Cullen, and Chris Cullen.

Honorary bearers will be Eldon McClain, Roger Mueller, and Sam Young.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
