Obituary For Eva E Myers

Eva E. Myers, 93, of Sedalia went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at EW Thompson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sedalia, MO. She was born on October 1, 1925 in Sedalia, MO the daughter of Thomas and Gertrude (Schmidt) Reno, who preceded her in death.

On November 17, 1943, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Herman Albert Myers who preceded her in death on October 12, 1985.

Eva was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She volunteered her time to serve on the local Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society where she chaired “Jail and Bail”, “Mr. Legs” and “The Longest Day of Golf”. She was an honorary life time member of the Sedalia Chamber of Commerce and volunteered her time to this organization in many ways including receiving the Ambassador of the Year Award and serving on the Military Affairs Committee and the Community Council at Whiteman Air Force Base. Helping to organize the George A. Whiteman annual wreath ceremony on Memorial Day was one of the highlights in her service as a community volunteer.

Survivors include five children, Tom Myers (Jenny) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Larry Myers (Paulette) of Sedalia, Bob Myers (LaTisha) of Houston, TX, Lisa Duchesne (Duane) of Sedalia, and Jim Myers (Kim) of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Tom (Audrey), Kim, Jason, Jeremy, Patricia; five great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Herman and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Reno and John Wesley Reno.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Duane Duchesne officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the chapel.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Tom Myers, Jason Myers, Jeremy Myers, Kyle Myers, Brandon Myers, and Nathan Walker.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
