Obituary For Eunice Marie Opfer

Eunice Marie Opfer, 81, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on March 21, 1941, in Knob Noster, MO, the daughter of Dale Brown and Elizabeth (Street) Brown, who preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to Herman Junior Opfer, who preceded her in death in 1966.

Eunice worked for Rival Manufacturing for many years before retiring. Eunice enjoyed watching western cowboy shows, soap operas and especially loved spending time with her grandbabies.

Survivors include four children, Sandi Lutjen of Sedalia, Herman Opfer of Holden, Tammy Chaney of Missouri, and Steve Opfer of Pleasant Hill; thirteen grandchildren, Kim, Brandi, Amber, Alexis, Ashley O, Andrew, Eric, Michael, Travis, Chad, Stephanie, Casey, and Kelly; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters Mary Rainey of Concordia, Wanda Rainey of Knob Noster, and Connie Brown of Sedalia.

In addition to her husband and parents, Eunice was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and Joseph Opfer, and a sister, Patricia Brown.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2022, at the La Monte Cemetery with Jack Menges, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Dempsey II, Jimmy Lenley, Bailey Bardin, Angel Dempsey, Mike Hall, and Cameron Taber.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart of America Redistribution and Solutions in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
