Elverna Elizabeth Hogan, 89, of Sedalia passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO. She was born on May 13, 1928 in Sweet Springs, MO the daughter of Peter John and Adel Lydia (Steffens) Viets, who preceded her in death.
On June 30, 1946, in Kansas City, KS, she was united in marriage to Oliver Eldon Hogan, who preceded her in death on August 3, 1999.
Elverna was a 1946 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. She worked at Town and Country Shoes for several years. Elverna enjoyed gardening, collecting antique dishes and especially loved spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Morris Hogan (Connie) of Rayville, MO, and Dale Hogan (Vonna) of Sedalia; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Eldon, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dean Hogan; a sister, Frieda Bell; and a brother, Ervin Viets.
Graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia with Rev. Jason Kindle officiating.
There will be no family visitation.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kenny Hogan, Brian Hogan, Kelly Hogan, Casey Hogan, Rusty Hogan and Kinser Hogan.
Honorary bearers granddaughters, Tara Hogan and Meg Young.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
