Eloise Young, 99, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, MO. She was born on June 9, 1925, in Wortham, TX, the daughter of Paul Jefferson Barron and Jessie Pauline (Weems) Barron, who preceded her in death.

On December 24, 1941, in Lovington, NM, she was united in marriage to Thomas Charles Young, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1992.

Ellie worked as the Head Baker at the School Cafeteria for 17 years in Texas. After retirement, she began painting country crafts and many oil paintings. She was an active member of her church in Texas and a prayer warrior who loved to quote scripture from the King James Version of the Bible.

In 1999, she moved to Missouri from Texas, where she loved the beauty of the trees, lakes, and fall foliage. She enjoyed visiting Branson and going to the shows, sometimes up to six shows in one weekend! Her trip of a lifetime was traveling to Israel with her brother Jiggs, to explore the Holy Land.

Ellie enjoyed playing dominoes, dining out with the girls, and keeping a sharp mind by working on crossword puzzles. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, working in the kitchen and helping with the decorations for many years. Ellie was the most beautiful Christian lady who loved the Lord. She wanted most to "hear the trumpets sound, see the rapture, and the return of Jesus". It is beautiful to know she is with him now.
