Obituary For Elise Butt

Elise Butt, 91, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at Cedarhurst Retirement Community of Sedalia. She was born on November 28, 1926, in Gentry County, MO, the daughter of Homer Earl and Carrie Maude (Henderson) Robertson, who preceded her in death.

In April of 1948, she was united in marriage to Kenneth "Butch" Butt, who preceded her in death on February 27, 2004.

Elise graduated from Albany High School, Albany, MO and also graduated from Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College in Maryville, MO. She taught country school for several years before moving to Stanberry, MO, with her husband. Elise was a housewife until the late 1950s when they purchased the El Ray Motel in Tarkio, MO. After Butch passed away Elise chose to make her home in Sedalia. She was a member of the Tarkio Chapter of P.E.O. and an active member of Parkview Christian Church in Sedalia.

Elise will be most remembered for her positive attitude and beautiful smile.

Survivors include one brother, Olin Earl Robertson of Ozark, MO, nieces Jean Brown of Sedalia and Carol Chavez (Richard) of Springfield, MO; a great nephew, Jared (Jamie) Brown; two great nieces, Carrie (Mike) Bowles and Alana Chavez; two nephews-in-law, David (Kathy) Butts and Doug (Tami) Butts; three nieces-in-law, Cindy Butts, Sondra Snellen, and Mary Sue Trotter; a brother-in-law, Junior Butt; a sister-in-law, Eva Butts; and her dear friend Shirley Morley of Sedalia.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant sister; three sisters-in-law, Maxine Bales, Mary Butt and Genevieve Young; two brothers-in-law, Donnie Butts and Bill Butts; two nephews-in-law, Marlin Brown and Steve Butts.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO with Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at Rea Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be at a later date at High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Christian Church or Crossroads Hospice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
