Elda Pauline Dotson, 71, of Sedalia passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, MO. She was born on March 19, 1947 in California, MO the daughter of Wesley Elmer and Mary Ellen (Carroll) Copas, who preceded her in death.
On February 7, 1970, in Sedalia she was united in marriage to Edward Dotson who resides in Sedalia.
Elda enjoyed flower gardening, going to auctions, watching old western shows, and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter Carrie Dotson-Merriott of Sedalia; four sisters, Mary Hogsett of Princeville, IL, Joann Greer of Blue Springs, MO, Sharon Quick (Ralph) of Sedalia, and Linda Collins of Smithton; two brothers, J.W. Copas (Pat) of Oklahoma, and Golder Copas (Bonnie) of Moberly, MO; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Copas; two brothers, Bobby Copas and Paul Dean Copas.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Chaplin Bill Douglas officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Dotson, T.J. Wiseman, Raymond Shaumeyer, Andrew Dotson, Ernie Bozarth, Adam Merriott.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
