Obituary For Edwin Crawford

Edwin "Dick" Richard Crawford, 89, of Sedalia passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at MO Veterans Home, Warrensburg. He was born on November 27, 1925 in Cooper County, MO a son of Ernest and Prudence (Weathers) Crawford, who have preceded him in death.

On September 4, 1949 he was united in marriage to Carlyn (Collins), who survives of the home.

Dick was a member of Sedalia Sunrise Optimist, VFW Post 2591 and Calvary Baptist Church, Sedalia. He served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII and was awarded 12 battle stars. Dick enjoyed attending USS Haggard DD-555 Annual Reunions for the past 25 years.

Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Richard W. Crawford of Warsaw, Darice C. Montgomery of Decatur, TX, Teresa Lynn Goss-Crawford (Perry) of Glascow, MO; seven grandchildren, Charles, Tyson, Dusty, Kirk, Luke, Ian and Reagan; two step-grandchildren, Morgan and Caitlyn; and four great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son Michael Allan Crawford; one sister, Kathryn Hayes; six brothers, Henry, Brad, Martin, Bill, Jack and Burt Crawford.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev. Don Satterwhite officiating.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Friday, July 24, 2015, at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. VFW Post 2591 will conduct full military honors.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Memorials are suggested to the MO Veterans Home, Warrensburg, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
