Edward Eugene Dotson

Edward Eugene Dotson, 83, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He was born on February 4, 1942, in Sedalia, the son of Vernion Edward Dotson and Lois Lucille (West) Dotson, who preceded him in death.

Eugene, was self-employed doing auto body repair and painting. He cherished family time, often enjoying Sunday lunches with his daughter, Carrie. His love for community was evident in his frequent visits to auctions, yard sales, Heritage days in Warsaw, and attending car shows.

Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Merriott of Sedalia and Tammy Dotson of Sedalia; three sons, Rick Dotson of Sedalia, Jerry Dotson of Kansas, and Danny Dotson of Sedalia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Terry Borchers of Sedalia.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Copas; and a brother, Vernion "Sonny" Dotson.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery, with Pastor Aaron Roberts officiating.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Dotson, Andrew Dotson, Adam Merriott, and Chase Coffelt.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
