Obituary For Edna Virginia Schell

Edna Virginia Schell, 93, passed away on December 18, 2016, with her family by her side in Sedalia, Missouri. Mrs. Schell was born on September 26, 1923, in Sedalia, Missouri to Lillian Maude Lutgen Burlingame and James M. Burlingame of Sedalia. She is survived by her sister Ruth Louise Esser. She was preceded in death by 8 siblings, Henry Pearl, Maggie Irene, Minta Alene, Robert Lee, James Harold, Lillian Maude, Andrew Leroy and Thomas Leonard Burlingame. She married Clarence Schell of Pennsylvania. Mr. Schell preceded her in death in 1969. There were no children born of this marriage. Although she would claim Jackie and Eddie Burlingame and Bobby Dietzman as her own boys, as she took care of them in their younger days, and into adulthood. Mrs. Schell graduated from Smith Cotton high School in 1941. After graduation she worked for many years at Lamy Manufacturing. Mrs. Schell loved to grow a vegetable garden and pick out walnuts. Mrs. Schell is a lifetime member of the Pentecostal Church of God and has many lifetime friends within the church. Mrs. Schell lived “by faith and not by sight” as the Holy Bible instructed in 2 Corinthians 5:7. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Loyd Hefner. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations in her memory be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
