Earnest Victor Buso "Ernie," 88, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on April 3, 2024, at Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, MO. He was born on November 17, 1935, in Sedalia, the son of Richard and Bernice (Bealer) Buso, who preceded him in death.
Ernie was born and raised in Sedalia, MO, in a military family. He attended Washington Elementary School and Smith-Cotton High School, where he enjoyed playing football. His parents got transferred to Ft. Leonard Wood, where he started his junior year of high school. It was his senior year that he decided to enlist in the Marines. He joined the Marines in March 1954 and was honorably discharged as a corporal in March 1957.
He met his wife Doris Eck when he was coming home at the Missouri Depot, and on July 7, 1957, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage. They were blessed with two children, Patricia and Bryan. In 1957, he decided to race, so he and his good friend "Squirrel" Palmer decided to build their own race car. It was very soon after that they realized it would be too expensive, and they didn't have the money, as both were newlyweds. Ernie drove for several owners instead. When he turned 40, he decided it was best to give it up. Merlyn McCown had a basketball team, "Over The Hill Gang," that he joined. They played many other teams, and even though they were the old men, they wound up beating several young guys. He enjoyed coaching Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball as well. He worked for Rival Manufacturing, where he retired after forty-one years of service. Ernie would jog six miles after work and also ran in several marathons locally. He was always wanting to be physically fit. He loved his family most of all and will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched.
Besides his wife Doris, Ernie is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Moore (Ray); son, Bryan E. Buso (Stephanie); brothers, Paul Wayne Buso and Raul "Eddie" Buso (JoDee); three grandchildren, Christopher Moore (Theresa), Kylan Moore, and Courtney Buso; and two great-grandchildren, Liam Moore, and Fallon Moore.
Besides his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard "Dickie" Buso and Juan Carlos "J.C." Buso; a sister, Betty Jo Reveles; a sister-in-law, Bonnie; a brother-in-law, Viviano Reveles, and several aunts, uncles, and friends.
