Dorothy Mae Herrick

Dorothy Mae Herrick, 82, of Sedalia passed away Wednesday March 13, 2019 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on October 18, 1936 in Sedalia the daughter of William M. and Mary Gladys (Rhodes) Dey, who preceded her in death.

On June 22, 1956 in Sedalia, MO. she was united in marriage to Harvey C. Herrick, who preceded her in death on October 2, 1981.

Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She furthered her education at Central Missouri State University where she attained her Masters Degree in Education. Dorothy taught elementary school in Sedalia and Dresden. Dorothy enjoyed reading and going dancing. She was a life long resident of Sedalia and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Dickman (Doug) of St. Petersburg, FL; a son Tim Herrick (Kathy) of Sedalia; twelve grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; and a brother, Bill Dey of Sedalia.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Ann Bain.

A private family burial will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.
