Donald Gene Wood, 67, of Marshall, MO, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. He was born on March 3, 1950 in Marshall, the son of Doran Estel and Frances Violet (Birdsong) Wood, who both preceded him in eternal rest.
On July 29, 1973 Don was united in marriage to Elaine Sue Watson, who survives of the home.
Don was a devoted parent and grandparent to his entire family. He loved everything about motorcycles and found great joy in riding and customizing them. He also had a deep love for his chihuahuas, Foxysue and HarleySue. Don loved to travel and had a passion for exploring the world. He was able to do much of that as he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for 22 years. After retiring from the Air Force, Don went to work at SMC for 16 years. Don was also active in the Patriot Guard Riders and dedicated much of his time to paying last respects to his fellow veterans. He was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and the Sedalia Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Besides his loving and devoted wife, Elaine, Don is survived by two children, Michelle Cloutier and her husband Matt of Montana, and Michael Wood and his wife Cheryl of Missouri; six grandchildren, Shauntaya Taylor (Adam Short), Andreanna Davis, Cheyenne Davis, Sheric Davis, Brittany Lynn Wood, and Bradley Alan Wood; two great grandchildren, Draiven and Bentley; and two brothers, Robert Wood (Mary) of Missouri and James Wood (Leslie) of Utah.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Seth Coridan officiating.
Visitation will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Mike Green, Ben Brown, Rick Yeager, Wes Dunkin, Cathy Green, and Scott Green.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
