Donald Stovall,(Smurf) 66, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his son's home in Mt. Vernon, MO. He was born on September 16, 1950 in Osio, Japan the son of James Wilson and Ruby Virginia (Johnston) Stovall, who preceded him in death.
Don always said that he loved the Elks Lodge as his second home where he served over 20 years on the house committee, one term as Trustee, two years as Esteemed Lecturing Knight, one term Esteemed Royal Knight, two years Esteemed Leading Knight, four years as Exalted Ruler, and seven years as Esquire. He coached and managed his kids baseball and soccer teams. He liked baseball, bowling, fishing, and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Survivors include Beryl Griffin and their children, Shawn and his wife Stefani of Mt. Vernon, Brandon and his wife Terra of Harrison, AR, and Brett and his wife Silvia of Ft. Riley, KS; a step daughter Lori McGinnis of Forsyth, MO; seven grandchildren, Abigail, Armando, Roman, Rodney, Nautica, Beau and Addie; a brother, James F. Stovall of California.
In addition to his parents was also preceded in death by a step son, Corey Shackelford.
Funeral service will be conducted by Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #125 at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Stovall, Shawn Stovall, Brandon Stovall, Brett Stovall, Armando Moran and Gary Huddelston, II.
Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren, Abigail, Roman, Rodney, Nautica, Beau and Addie as well as all Elks Lodge Members past, present and future.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #125 Thanksgiving Basket Fund in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
