Donald D. Buller, 90, of Sedalia, MO passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on March 12, 1931 in Newton, KS the son of Leonhard Buller and Rachel (Flaming) Buller, who preceded him in death.
On August 28, 1955 in Wichita, KS he was united in marriage to Ruth Arlene Moore, who resides in the home.
Don was a 1949 graduate of Newton High School, Newton, KS. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1956 with a Master's Degree in Architectural Engineering. After graduating, Don served his internship at R.P. Stal Architect in Springfield, MO. In 1961 he and his wife Ruth moved to Sedalia where he and Burl Sammons started Sammons and Buller Architects. Don was always active and could never sit still. As an architect he was an member of National Council of Architectural Boards President of the Missouri Council in 1972. He was a member of Lions Club for over 40 years, including a term of president. He was a member of First Christian Church almost 70 years where he served as a deacon and also Chairman of the Board. In the mid 70s he bought property at the Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed boating and taking out new and experienced water skiers. Don was an avid gardener, annually producing bountiful gardens of vegetables and beautiful flowers. After he retired he continued to keep himself busy as a KC BBQ Society judge, officiating contests throughout the state. He become a stained glass artist, made jewelry, transitioning his artistic skills to fusing glass.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Shawn Buller of Miami, FL, Kevin Buller (Jamie) of Jacksonville, FL, and Stuart Buller (Susan) of Burleson, TX; three grandchildren, Brandon and Hayleigh Zachary, Loren and Jesse Steele, and Hannah Hodges; four great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Eli, Isla, and Everett; a brother, Richard Buller and his wife Connie of Conway, AR.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Buller.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2021, at First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Chad McMullin officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Honorary bearer will be Dave Menefee.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, or Sedalia Open Door, or to a charity of the donor's choice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
