Dolores "Dee" Jean Stockstill, 85, of Sedalia, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on February 13, 1939, in Sedalia, the daughter of Albert Dillon and Lillian (Hohimer) Dillon, who preceded her in death.
On February 15, 1958, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Charles Thomas Stockstill Sr., who preceded her in death on May 2, 2018.
Dee was a 1957 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She and her husband Charles opened the Main Street Bar and later the Pacific Bar and Cafe in Sedalia. In 1973, along with her husband, they started Chuck and Dee's at the Missouri State Fair, which still exists after 51 years. Dee was also a proprietor of the Cheese Board Deli, along with her two sons and husband. Dee loved traveling with her husband to watch her children and grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed going to the River Boat Casino and Las Vegas, playing cards, bowling, and tending to her many different animals. Dee was very instrumental in the upbringing of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dee especially loved spending time with family and friends at Chuck and Dee's at the Missouri State Fair, where she was most known as "Mama Dee."
Survivors include two grandchildren, Rachel Thomas (Doug) of Sedalia and Mathew Charles Stockstill (Jenny) of Oregon; three great-granddaughters, Kylie Jo Moreno, Kaitlyn Lillian Moreno, and Kelsey Cardin Thomas; and a nephew, Jason Hammond.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dee was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Stockstill, Jr., and Mark Stockstill; a sister, Pamela Hammond.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Honorary bearers will be Jason Hammond, Jeff McCrea, Gary Willis, Mike Arnold, Steve Moore, and Rebecca Embry.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LifePointe Church in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
