Dolores R. Garcia, 84, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at her home. She was born on October 14, 1933 in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Rosendo and Vincenta (Cardinez) Regalado, who both preceded her in death. Dolores received an Accounting Degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines, and later attended Lone Mountain College (now University of San Francisco) in San Francisco, California and majored in Economics. She worked as a Senior Accountant for San Francisco Federal Savings & Loan for many years. She later worked as a Senior Legal Processing Clerk with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Dept. She moved to Sedalia, Missouri in 2012 to enjoy her retirement and live closer to her daughter, Cathy (Garcia) Jackson and son-in-law, Steven Jackson. She loved her brothers and sisters and her family was very important to her. Even while living in the United States, she remained close to her relatives in the Philippines. She was also a breast cancer survivor. Dolores was a devout Catholic who practiced her faith throughout her entire life. She attended Church Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church as she had strong faith in the Lord. She enjoyed volunteering at the Sedalia Senior Center preparing meals to be delivered to other seniors in the community. She also enjoyed going on Field Trips and spending time with her friends at the Center. She is survived by a daughter, Catherine Garcia Jackson (Steven) of Sedalia; a sister, Helen Del Rosario Rodriguez, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings, Raymundo Regalado, Rosendo Regalado, Andres Regalado, Pastor Regalado, Pedro Regalado, Francis Regalado, Natividad Regalado Anonuevo, Isabel Regalado Soriano, and Paulina Regalado Gimena. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sedalia, with Father Brendan Griffey officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Steven Jackson, Dominic Del Rosario, Brian Shepherd, Bryan Arnold, Kelly Arnold, and Justin Surface.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Regalado, Julian Del Rosario, Lucas Del Rosario, Joshua Del Rosario, Jeffrey Dahlstrom, Jim Moore, and Jason Elwood.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Senior Center in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
