Obituary For Dixie Frances Kemp Fasl

Dixie Frances Kemp Fasl, 71, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the family home in Sedalia. She was born on January 15, 1951, in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of Everett and Ruth Kemp, who preceded her in death.

Dixie graduated from Sacred Heart High School, the Sedalia Class Valedictorian of '69. She was crowned Miss Sedalia in 1969 and won second runner up at the Miss Missouri Pageant that same year. Dixie was one of the first class of women to enter Rockhurst University in the fall of 1969. There she studied philosophy, and received a dual degree in French literature, and medical technology. She then worked as a medical technician in the blood bank at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She later studied theater and costume design at Parsons School of Design in New York. Dixie was the co-owner of Renaissance Personal Assistants in New York, NY. Some of her fondest memories include her many visits to Paris, France. She absolutely loved the hustle and bustle there. Dixie also loved the theater life in and around New York. She lived a full and exciting life and will be missed by all those who knew her.

Dixie is survived by one brother, David Kemp, of Sedalia; a nephew, Blake Kemp, of North Bend, OR; and many relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, Dixie is preceded in death by her brother Bruce Kemp.

A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sedalia, at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Brain Tumour Charity, The National Brain Tumor Society, or SHS Foundation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

As your younger cousin from California, I did not see you often but I was in awe of you and Aunt Ruth and your huge 3 story house. The boys were always doing boy things. May beautiful memories console your family and friends and may you rest in peace.

It is such sorrow that I heard to Dixie's passing. So beautiful , musical A wonderful laugh. Dixie was smart And admired by all. She was so good to me in high school when others were not and I never forgot it. Such a wonder person and family. The world needed people like Dixie and so sorry she is gone.
