Dickie Joe Schultz

Dickie Joe Schultz, 85, of Sedalia, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 2, 1938, in Sedalia, MO, the son of Raymond Lee Schultz and Helen Lucille (Scott) Schultz, who preceded him in death.

On August 18, 1961, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Margaret Rogers, who resides in the home.

Dickie was baptized at East Sedalia Baptist Church in his youth. He became a member of Emmett Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as secretary and treasurer for many years. Dickie was one of the founding members of the W.C.M.V.A.C. He loved his old cars, going to car shows, cruise nights, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Dickie was a collector of many vintage memorabilia. He enjoyed going to antique auctions and sales.

In addition to his wife, Dickie is survived by a son, LTC(R) Jeffrey Schultz (De De) of Basehor, KS; a daughter, Esther Schultz (Vanessa) of Smithton; a daughter-in-law, Valarie Schultz of Smithton; a bonus daughter, Michelle Muths (Shane) of Cole Camp; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Dickie was preceded in death by a son, Joe Schultz, and a grandson, Ryan Schultz.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Barrett officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

The burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Honorary bearers will be the Members of West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club and the KC Customs Car Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmett Avenue Baptist Church or the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
