Dickie J. Luper

January 19, 1943 — June 29, 2024

Dickie J. Luper "Dick" passed away on June 29, 2024 at his home in Sedalia, MO surrounded by his family. He was born in Florence, MO on January 19, 1943, the son of Bonnie Jinks and Gilbert F. Luper, who both preceded him in death.

On November 4, 1964 he was united in marriage to his wife, Valmeta Schrader, whom he has been married to for nearly 60 years. He served in the United States Army where he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. He then began working for Alcan Cable in Sedalia, where he worked for 33 years before retiring in 2002.

He enjoyed camping, trips to Colorado, and being a faithful and loving caregiver to his wife. He loved working on projects and continued to do this up until his death. He always thought of others and made sure his family had everything they needed.

Dick is survived by daughters, Teresa Stine (Joe) and Pamela Loomis (Vaughn); three grandsons, Sean Loomis (Anthony), Brett Allen, and Luke Loomis; a great granddaughter, Kinsley Allen; brothers, Donald "Eddie" Luper (Annalee) and Larry Stiffarm (Becky); and a sister, Lori Kliethermes (Tom).

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, David Stiffarm; a sister, Betty Estes; and a daughter, Betty.

He was lucky in his last few years to have the friendship of Juan and Lucia, and longtime friend, John Bopp. Dick was so thankful to have had them in his life.

It was Dick's wish not to have a service. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
