Obituary For Derrick Douglas

Derrick E. Douglas, better known as "Bucky", 41, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2017 in Atlanta, GA. Derrick was born in Chicago, IL, on May 2, 1975 to Eugene Davis and Barbara Douglas.

He attended Cameron Elementary Grade School and Pablo Casals in Chicago, IL. After his 8th grade, Derrick was accepted into Carl Schurz High School and later took up a trade in construction where he received his certification and licenses. In 1997, Derrick moved to Sedalia, MO with his mother and sibling's before moving to Atlanta, GA. On July 5, 2015 Derrick was united in Holy Matrimony to Brandy Davis in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by loved ones and friend's. Derrick was a devoted father to his children and grand children.

Derrick leaves to cherish his memory with his wife Brandy Douglas of Atlanta, GA. His mother Barbara Douglas of Sedalia, MO. His Father Eugene Davis of Chicago, IL. His twelve children Derrick Douglas Jr of Chicago, IL, Brianna Kirkland of Chicago, IL, Keuntae Johnson of Chicago, IL, Diamond Douglas of Chicago, IL, Darius Douglas of Chicago, IL, Darien Douglas of Chicago, IL, Mekhi Kinner of Sedalia, MO, D'Ajhia Douglas of Sedalia, MO, Niya Douglas-Hughes of Sedalia, MO, Stacey Davis of Chicago, IL, Dahzanai Davis of Chicago, IL, and Dacota Davis of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Rj Wade of Chicago, IL, Raylin Wade of Chicago, IL, Karter Wilson of Chicago, IL, and Bri'Elle Kirkland of Chicago, IL; one sister, Nicole Douglas of Sedalia, MO; and one brother , Van Douglas (Jennifer) of Sedalia, MO; four aunts, Vera Davis of Chicago, IL, Patricia Martin (Carl) of Chicago, IL, Norma Douglas of Independence, MO, and Jennifer Baggett (Roger) of Chicago, IL; four uncles, Leon Douglas of Waukegan, IL, Anthony Douglas (Angela) of Sedalia, MO, Michael Douglas (Viola) of Sedalia, MO, Okever Moore (Sarah) of Chicago, IL; and a host of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from Atlanta and Chicago, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Derrick was preceded in death by his grandparents Okever Moore Sr. and Agnes Moore; one cousin, Princeton (Pe-Ja) Douglas.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Billy Foster officiating.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Van Douglas, James Davis, Michael Douglas, Anthony Douglas, Pernell Brooks, and Devon Balark.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Antwoine Sparks and Virgil Taylor.
