Obituary For Dee Neumeyer

Dee Neumeyer, 79, of Boca Raton, FL passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at Trustbridge Hospice Care Center, Boca Raton FL. She was born on February 24, 1943 in Mobile, AL the daughter of John Austin Reed and Ethel (Chadwick) Reed, who preceded her in death.

The first part of Dee's life was spent in an orphanage in Vinton, Iowa. Adopted in her teens by Ethel and John Reed quickly adapting to family life then moving to Eugene Oregon to attend North Eugene High School where she was homecoming queen in addition to being a gymnast and cheerleader. She then moved to the Seattle Washington area to start a family.

At age 50 Dee moved to Florida to be with her children and traveled internationally as a flight attendant for Rich International charter airline. Her next project was to open the Eiffel nail salon in Pompano Beach with her daughter. Dee worked in donor relations for Food For The Poor, an international charity for 20 years until she retired.

Drawing on her experience as a baton twirling majorette in high school she joined the Ziegfeld Broadway Entertainers, a senior dance group, donating her time and talent to help local charities.

Dee is survived by her husband Stephen Neumeyer, stepbrother Aaron Reed of Eugene Oregon, stepsister Blythe Wardwell, of Adams, Oregon as well as her children, Tanya Plath of Boca Raton FL, Robert Plath of Surprise Arizona and granddaughters Alexis Yribarren, Amber Yribarren, Savannah Plath and predeceased step granddaughter Amanda Yribarren.

A graveside service will be Friday, November 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Smithton Cemetery in Smithton, MO.

Her family is requesting donations to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.
