David Bentley Newland, 47, of Green Ridge passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his home in Green Ridge. He was born on September 6, 1970 in Kingsville, TX the son of Eddie Marquis Newland, who preceded him in death on May 13, 2006 and Mary K. (Herrick) Robinson who resides in Sedalia.
On September 21, 2013, in Green Ridge, MO, on the farm, he was united in marriage to Jessica Brock-Newland, who resides of the home.
David was an Eagle Scout and a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. He worked as a tow truck driver for State Fair Towing for several years and recently started working for Missouri Pressed Metals. David and his wife were members of the Broken & Busted Saddle Club in Climax Springs, MO. David enjoyed horse back riding, fishing, working on muscle cars and 4X4 trucks. He loved being outdoors in the nature boating and camping. Family was everything to him, even when he was tormenting them. He loved being a jokester and making people laugh.
In addition to his wife, Jessica and mother, Mary, he is survived by five children, Ashley Newland, Michael Newland, Ryan Newland, Joshua Stephens, and Anthony Weddle, a godson, Aaron Welch; a daughter of the heart, Aurora Geer; seven grandchildren; a brother, Kirk Newland; two sisters, Myrna Mills and Melissa May; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Newland; a daughter, Tonie Stephens.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastors Jason McClain officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Danny Cummings Cancer Memorial Fund in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
