David Layne Cormican, 50, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on December 23, 1971, in Jacksonville, AR, the son of Michael A. Cormican and Joyce Kay (Ebersole) Cormican, who reside in Sedalia.
Dave was a 1990 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, where he served as an Elder. Dave worked as a Machinist at Pro Energy for the past ten years. He enjoyed music and was an accomplished drummer. Dave played in the Lifeline worship band and sat in on multiple bands when his talent was needed. He was a lover of gadgets. Dave could fix and repair anything electronic. Dave loved going to Florida to be on the beach. He especially loved spending time with his daughter watching Netflix.
Survivors include three children, Emma Cormican, Aaron Pitts, and Meghan Chamberlain; three grandchildren, Jaxon, Xander, and Blair; a brother, Adam Cormican (Debbie) of Sedalia; two sisters, Athena VanGilder (Tim) of Overland Park, KS and Bethany Caddell (Seth) of Hampton, VA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Dave was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Roger and Dolores Cormican, and maternal grandparents, Carl and Clara Ebersole.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Parkview Christian Church Family Life Center (entrance on 16th street side of church) with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church, Family Life Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emma Cormican for continuing education.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
