David Ray Kammerich, 81, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at his home. He was born on September 4, 1943, in Sedalia, the son of Leonard Francis Kammerich and Hilda Marie (Schroeder) Kammerich, who preceded him in death.
On August 2, 1969, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Linda S. Schupp, who resides in their home.
Dave was a 1961 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He attended college at Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, MO. Dave worked as a machine operator for Alcan Cable for 35 years, retiring in 2006. He was a dedicated member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he served as an Altar Boy in his youth and an Usher later in life. Dave was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sedalia, on October 3, 1943, by Pastor Herman H. Heidbreder and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sedalia, on April 14, 1957, by Pastor Walter F. Strickert.
Dave enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, traveling, and wood working. Dave was an avid Lionel Train collector. He enjoyed gathering at McDonald's with the coffee crew for his breakfast burrito and Coke. Dave was a wonderful family man and loved spending time with his family and friends.
A devoted family man, Dave is survived by his wife, Linda; their son, Anthony David Kammerich and his wife Nina of Wilmington, North Carolina; a sister, Margie Buchholz of Clinton, Missouri; 13 nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Dennis Kreisler and his wife Pat of Sedalia.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Thomas and her husband Stan Thomas; and a brother-in-law, George Buchholz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Jeremy Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Micah Buchholz, Jeff Buchholz, Jeremy Buchholz, Timothy Buchholz, Marcus Cooper, and Mike Hickman.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the American Heart Association in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
