David Paul Horstman, 61, of Sedalia passed away December 18, 2015 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on July 18, 1954 at Kansas City, Missouri the son of Chuck W. Horstman, who survives of Independence, Mo. and Georgia Lee Boren, who preceded him in death.
He was a 1972 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. He served his country honorably in the US Navy from 1975 until 1978 where he was stationed on the USS Marvin Shields. Loved being outdoors and was an avid animal activist. He was a lover of all animals including his beloved dog CeeCee. David was especially know for his kindness, never knew a stranger and always had a smile on his face.
Besides his father he is also survived by two brothers, Mark Horstman (Marsha) of St. Joseph, Mo. John Hortsman (Kim) of Sedalia; a sister, Kristy Jenkerson (Dan) of St. Helen's, OR; five nieces and nephews.
A private memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
