David E Miller, 79, of Sedalia, MO passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 31, 1938 in Georgetown, MO the son of Ed and Agnes (Young) Miller, who preceded him in death.
On September 12, 1959 in Hughesville, MO he was united in marriage to Alyce Olson, who survives of the home.
David was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and he worked as a Pepsi route man for forty-two years. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Sedalia. He was also a member of the Granite Lodge 272 AF&AM and a life-time member of Granite Lodge 236 AF&AM. the Scottish Rite Club, and past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a 33 Degree Honorary Inspector General for the Valley of Kansas City Masonic Lodge. David volunteered for the Red Cross at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia, for twelve years and was volunteer of the year in 1996. He was an umpire for slow pitch softball and enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Alyce, he is survived by his sons, Roger Miller (Debbie), Kent Miller (Vicki), and John Miller (Kathy); brothers, Tom Miller (Carolyn) and Dwight Miller (Carolyn Rhoads); sister, Laura Griffin; grandchildren, Kelli Miller, Jami Miller, Kristi Miller, Kevan Miller (Taylor), Austin Miller; and step-grandchildren, Jill Pulliam (Darrel), Jill Miller (Jacob), and Ryan Parrish (Ali).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marilyn Duzan and Lorreta Baessler; and his nephews, Mike Miller and Steve Emory.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, Sedalia, with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 29, 2018 also at the Celebration Center.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Butler, Jeff Jackson, Joe Miller, Jill Peluso. Joe Reser, and Gary Young.
Honorary bearers will be George McConnell, Bob Wiley, Joe Wasson, and the grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Crossroads Hospice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
